Yuvi, an Indian engineer who was a colleague of mine when I was at Wikimedia Foundation:

100% of the people I considered 'heroes' in the tech scene when I was 17 have ended up massively disappointing 25yo me :(

But maybe if I was a 15yo in India who just got internet now (than 10y ago), my heroes would be ppl like @b0rk and @brainwane, not ESR/pg.

I am overwhelmed.

Wow. When I first read this, I just thought, "Aw, Sumana is sharing something nice that someone said about her! Cool. Yay, Sumana." But, thinking about it just a little bit more, I see that what he is actually saying is something important and hopeful about fifteen-year-old kids in India right now and about why it's so important that people like you and Julia exist, and that *is* overwhelming. Thanks.
