"Nanette" by Hannah Gadsby, a new comedy special (currently streaming on Netflix; MetaFilter discussion), is a superb work on a technical level, as a demonstration of the art of stand-up and the art of theater. And it's witty and moving and deeply insightful. At times it deals with issues of sexual assault and abuse and homophobia, so take care of yourself in deciding whether and when to watch/listen. I'm grateful to everyone who recommended this.

I saw this live and loved it so, so much.

It's such a mixture of
funny
sad
profound
shocking
and more...

I thought of you when I was watching this, because her insight into the practice of stage comedy reminded me of how thoughtful you are with approaching stage comedy not just as a craft but also with care as an ethical consideration.
