Haha, I realize I was also ranting about this elsewhere - I know at least some of the problem is one friend who is new to fediverse maybe going overboard with it. While I can see the comparison to DW/LJ cuts and tumblr read-mores, I think the fact that they're labeled 'content warning' and mark as 'sensitive content' brings a non-neutral framing to things that the DW/LJ/tumblr versions do not have. And also I feel somewhat like I am being told what *I* should find objectionable? I also chafe at mandatory content warnings on general principle, even while largely being in favor of voluntary ones.
