brainwaneCame across this a cappella cover of a sea shantey ("The Wellerman") and found out it is about whaling. My spouse loves whales and so he has improvised a new song that is about people on a boat tracking down "the world's coolest whale" just for the joy of seeing it. The whale emerges from the ocean wearing sunglasses.
He was unhappy with his first effort which borrowed heavily from the theme song to "Gilligan's Island" and so switched to one based on "What Do You Do With A Drunken Sailor." Until he did this I did not realize that the "Gilligan's Island" theme song was a sea shantey but it totally is!
