Comfort reading

I am rereading a Star Trek: Deep Space Nine branded novel, A Stitch in Time, which is basically Garak's memoir about his entire life. It is written by Andrew Robinson, the actor who played Garak, and in it he is clearly bisexual (which is also how Robinson, in the DS9 documentary that came out 1-2 years ago, said he played Garak (even though it was never explicit in the dialogue)). And I just find it so charming and cool that Robinson got so great at being inside Garak's head that he was able to write this entire backstory novel.

I find it so endearing when actors do this! I also really enjoyed it when one of the Broadway Fiddler on the Roof actresses wrote a mediocre sequel novel about one of the daughters.

Garak was a terrific character - one of the reasons a friend of mine is currently re-watching the series while making masks. Humble tailoring!

His stories really are worth the time to read them. Regardless of truth or lies, or who's telling the tales...

Oh wow! I had no idea. My wife knew Robinson when she was growing up (a neighbor) and is a Star Trek fan; she might enjoy reading that one!

Everything she's ever said about him has been positive -- he and his wife were family friends, I gather. She's never said much more about him, but she was delighted to hear about the book. :)
